WARREN COUNTY CORVETTE CLUB
September 17, 2018

The meeting was called to order by Bob Walser at 6:50. It was held at the Indianola sports Page. There were 22 members present. Larry and Ruth Smith were our guest speakers this month. Larry went to Eddyville high school. He attended Iowa State. He was a mechanical engineer. He worked for John Deere and Ryko for 20 plus years with each company. Ruth was from DeWitt, Iowa. She also went to Iowa State. She met Larry at college, They were married and lived in Ottumwa. Ruth was a teacher, worked in a loan company, and a dressmaker. She moved to Des Moines, and worked in a yarn shop in Valley Junction. They have two sons. They have traveled to all 50 states and several foreign countries. Larry has a 66 Corvette and Ruth has had a 74, 95 and a 2002. They have been club members for many years.

New business
Mary Ann Good reported we will do the $500.00 scholarship for the Norwalk student.
It will be geared toward a technical program.It will be presented on April 15th by Rod Good.
Gail and Graham Smith may host a sports rally ride in the future.

WARREN COUNTY CORVETTE CLUB
Auguest 20, 2018

ThThe meeting was called to order at 6:40 by President Bob Walser.It is August 20, 2018. It was held at the Indianola Sports Page. There were 20 members present.Dean and Nealia Herberger were our speakers at this meeting.Nealia told of her family background. She was a dental assistant for 23 years. Now enjoys her days at the dog rescue, gardening and planning our next trip. Dean told about the four generations of bridge building. He has enjoyed his busy and challenging career. Working all over the state of Iowa.He will be ready to rebuild the covered bridge in Winterset soon. They both have enjoyed making new friends and taking trips with the Corvette club.

New business
Mary Ann Good proposed we do a scholarship for a Norwalk high school student. We can indicate where to direct our donation.
The members would like someone going into the automotive program. Also we would like to give $500.00. The proposal was passed by the group. Mary Ann will get more information. Mary Ann also reported the web page was recently updated. Also our Facebook has 82 followers now.
Bob Walser discussed adding the Norwalk City State bank as our club supporter Rod Good will check with the bank.
Rex Young reported a car show coming up on Sept 8th from 9:00-3:00. It will be at the Fairview Community Church south on Hwy 69.
The nominating committee will be Mary Ann Good, Carol Dennis and Larry Brandow. Our election will be held in November.

Old Business
The Balloon parade was held on July 28th. We had 6 cars in our group. The rain held off and we had a good time.
The breakfast at The Machine Shed was held on August 8th. There were 11 members present. Good food and good conversation.

Car projects
Dean Herberger has his car at Karl’s to have a paint blemish repainted.

July 16, 2018

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 by President  Bob Walser. It was held at the Indianola Sports Page.
There were 17 members present.Chris Sauter was our speaker at this meeting.
Chris told that he came from Sioux. He went to Indianola High School. He attended DMACC for his mechanical training.He moved back to Carlisle in 2008. He married Beth and they are raising their 2 kids now.
They have had the business Sauter Automotive in Carlisle for 5 years. Beth discussed having an event for kids with cancer or special needs.

New Business 
The Balloon parade is July 28 at 11:00 The parade lines up by the administrative building on North Buxton at 10:00.
Larry Smith is our name tag person. The tags are $8.00 each and the club pays for half.

June 18, 2018

The meeting was called to order at 6:25 pm on Monday, June 18,2018 by President Bob Walser. It was held at the Indianola Sports Page. There were 15 members present.

New Business 
Rod Good presented an idea about our giving donations for next year. He suggested we  might consider giving it to the Norwalk Industrial students. The Norwalk bank is very generous to give us money for our car's in their parade. Rod will look into it before the next meeting.
Ron Boone presented information about the Hannibal trip. It will be August 4.
The Des Moines Menace soccer club is hosting a mini car show on July 6th. It will be held on July 6th. They invited our club to attend. We received a thank you note from The Dollar for Scholars

JoAnn Walser reported the club expenses were insurance and the web master fee.

WARREN COUNTY CORVETTE CLUB
May 21, 2018

The meeting was called to order at 6:45 pm by President Bob Walser.
It was held at the Indianola Sports Page. There were 17 members present.
We had 2 visitors at our meeting. Royce and Deb Prickett from Waukee.
They have a 2015 Z06 white convertible.
Ernie Kephart was our speaker.He gave a good presentation of his many facets of his life. He was born in Iowa, joined the Navy. He worked in Japan and Saudia Arabia. His wife and family joined him part of the time. He helped with installing over 600 miles of fiber optics from 2006- 2014. He retired in 2014. He has had a very interesting career.

New Business
The subject was discussed about possibly cancelling the January meeting.
In the past we have had bad weather and low attendance.

Car news
Dean Herberger got his new Corvette. He got a 2019 blade silver C7 Grand Sport convertible.

Old business
The Christmas party will be hosted by Mary Donaghy Richards and Nealia Herberger in early December. Details to follow.

Treasurer’s report was approved as published
A list of members was sent out to all members. JoAnn was contacted for our club to make a donation to Dollar for Scholars Ruth made a motion for a $500.00 donation for a 2018 graduate. The motion was carried.
Mary Ann Good reported about the Facebook page.It has 59 followers.

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm by President Randy Doocterman.
It was held at the Indianola Sports Page. There were 20 members present.

Car news
Dean Herberger got his new Corvette on April 7th.
Sam Fullerton is doing some engine work on his Corvette.

The treasurer’s report was presented by JoAnn Walser.
It was approved as published. The secretary’s minutes were sent out and approved.

New member Andy Wyckoff from Des Moines He has a 1968 Corvette, and 2015 Corvette.

Old Business
There was a breakfast held on April 4th at The Machine Shed.
There were five members in attendance.

New Business
Randy Dochterman gave a talk on the history of how the Corvette club was started.
This was his last meeting. The Dochterman’s are moving to Burlington.
We all wish them well.
Bob Walser reported on the upcoming car event on June 24 We will meet at The Sports
Page at 12:45 to drive together to The Village.
Mike and Mary are hosting the outing for May. Details to be announced.
There was also discussion about upcoming events to The Amana’s, River to River
Hannibal and Vette’s on the River.
MaryAnn reported on increased activity on our Facebook page.
Larry Johnson passed away. His service was in April. The Smith’s and the Fullerton’s
attended the service.

It was held at the Indianola Sports Page. There were 20 members present.

Car news
Dean Herberger has ordered a new Corvette He is getting a Grand Sport C7
in blade silver. He is hoping to get it in mid April.

The February meeting was cancelled due to an ice storm.

Old business
A dinner was held at The Tavern on March 11th. Hosted by the Walsers
A good time was had by all.

JoAnn Walser reported she had transferred our bank accounts to City State Bank.
There will be a breakfast get together on April 4th at 8:30 at the Machine Shed

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm by President Randy Dochterman. It was held at the Indianola Sports Page There were 9 members present.

Car news
Butch Dennis purchased a 1986 Corvette. He will refurbish it.
Randy drove his car at Spring Mountain in Parrump, NV. His top speed
was 116 mph.

The Treasurer’s report was presented by Steve Halverson.
It was approved as published. We donated $300.00 to The Food Bank of Iowa.
The Secretary minutes were sent out and approved.

Old Business
The Christmas dinner was held at Johnny’s on December 15th.
It was hosted by Ruth and Larry Smith. 16 members were present.
DLH is still available to make shirts with club logo for our members.

New Business
Club dues are currently due.
January 21st will be dinner at Big Al’s at 5:30. Hosted by Butch and Carol Dennis.
February dinner will be at Baratta’s
We may want to have a sports car night get together.Also hand out cards about our club. Items are being added to the Facebook page.

November 20, 2017

The meeting was called to order at 7:18 pm at the Indianola Sports Page
There were 17 members present.

Jason Plourde was our guest speaker.
He was an F16 pilot 20 plus years. He was a lieutenant colonel.
He gave a very informative presentation showing his helmet and uniform.
He also showed the cockpit and explained how the F16 worked.
Everyone enjoyed hearing about his time of service.

Minutes of the October 16th were approved as published.

Old Business

The monthly dinner meeting was on November 11th It was held at Noah’s Ark.
It was hosted by Steve and Phyllis. There were 20 members present. A good
time was had by all.

Randy Dochterman attended the driving school in Las Vegas. He drove a 2018
Grand Sport and he really enjoyed the experience.

Ron Boone went to the Veterans track at Bowling Green. There was also
a Veterans Day parade on Saturday.

The election of officers was held. Ruth Smith made a motion to elect by acclamation.

The meeting was called to order at 7:10 at the Indianola Sports Page.
There were 19 members present.
We had a guest speaker at our meeting. It was Lenny from Foust’s Body Shop.
Lenny gave us some tips and tricks to help care for our paint on our Corvette’s.
He was very informative about products to use.

Old Business
Mystery Biscuit Run was held on Sept 30th. There were 17 cars and 29 members.
We had a nice cruise ending in Adel at Patrick’s restaurant for breakfast.
Larry and Ruth were our hosts.

The October dinner meeting was held at Ohana on October 14th.
We had 15 members present. Larry Smith and Carol Dennis won the trivia contest.
Dean and Nealia Herberger were the hosts for the evening.

Randy Dochterman, MaryAnn Good and JoAnn Walser met for an audit meeting.

Ron Boone, President called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m. at the Indianola Sports Page. Fourteen members were present.

    • Nineteen members attended the Christmas dinner at Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse on Fleur in West Des Moines on December 3.
    • Seventeen members enjoyed dinner at Café Fusion in Des Moines January 17.
  • Up-Coming Events:
    • Saturday, February 11, will be the Valentine’s Sweetheart Dinner at Christopher’s in Beaverdale at 5:30. Mary Ann Good is the coordinator and is taking reservations.
  • Old Business:
    • The Activities Committee reviewed the proposed activity list for 2017. Activities will be posted on the website calendar
  • New Business
    • The website is being updated with extensive use of the calendar being initiated.
    • Dues are payable to JoAnn Walser in February; they are $20 per person.
    • Club shirts are being considered. Randy Dochterman is negotiating with a graphics firm. The discussion will continue at the February meeting.

Jerry Weldon, President, called the meeting of the Warren County Corvette Club to order at 6:30 p.m., November 21, 2016, at the Sports Page in Indianola.

Members’ car projects were discussed: Ron Boone put new tires on his car. Sam Fullerton has a new radiator for his ’66.

The minutes of the October 17, 2016, meeting were approved.

Sam Fullerton thanked the Club for get-well wishes he received following his surgery.

• Nineteen members attended dinner at Gilroy’s in West Des Moines on November 5.

Up-Coming Events:
• Saturday, December 3, is the date for the annual club Christmas dinner at Johnny’s Italian Steak House on Fleur Drive. Cocktails/cash bar will begin at 6:00 p.m. Dinner will be served at 7:00 p.m.; the price is $30 per plate. Reservations are due Monday, November 28 – rsls66@msn.com.
• The January social event will be held at a Chinese Restaurant. Mike Richards will organize.

Ron Boone, Vice President, called the meeting of the Warren County Corvette Club to order at 6:36 p.m., October 17, 2016, at the Sports Page in Indianola.

Twenty members were present.

New members Ernie and Joanie Kephart were introduced.

Rod and Mary Ann Good will have a new Corvette tomorrow – a red Gran Sport with a transparent top.

The minutes of the September 19, 2016, meeting were approved. A get well card was sent to Sam Fullerton.

The treasurer’s report was approved. A thank you note was received from Mary Donaghy of the Make Indianola Beautiful committee for the Club contribution from 2016 Spring Fling proceeds. Corvette Club of Iowa sent a thank you note for the club’s attendance at the Vietnam Wall exhibit.

Past Events
• The Mystery Biscuit Run was held September 24. Eleven cars and 21 people met in Martinsdale and cruised to Winterset. Larry Smith was the organizer.
• Twelve people/six cars cruised to Clear Lake for lunch and site seeing then traveled on to Mason City to tour the Frank Lloyd Wright house and stayed overnight in the FLW Hotel. Steve Halverson planned this event.

Up-Coming Events:
• Saturday, November 5, 6:00 p.m., is the date for dinner at Gilroy’s on 8th Street in West Des Moines. Mary Ann Good will be the organizer.
• The Annual Club Christmas Dinner will be held, Saturday, December 3. Meet at Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse on Fleur Drive in Des Moines at 6:00 p.m. for cocktails. Dinner will be from a limited menu at 7:00. Each member will pay for his or her own dinner and drinks. Ruth Smith and committee are organizing.
• The January social event will be held at a Chinese Restaurant. Mike Richards will organize.

New Business
• The Nominating Committee was named to prepare a slate of officers for 2017: Mary Ann Good, Nealia Herberger, and Randy Dochterman. Election will be at the November meeting.
• The WebMaster reported 3790 hits on the website between May, 2015, and September, 2016.

Gerald Weldon, President, called the meeting of the Warren County Corvette Club to order at 6:40 p.m., September 19, 2016, at the Sports Page in Indianola.

Eighteen members were present. Several of the members processed to the parking lot for a photo-shoot while the some of the proceeds from Spring Fling 2016 were presented to the representative of Keep Indianola Beautiful.

Ernie Kephart, his wife and daughter are new members. Roger and Donna Hancock have rejoined the club.

The minutes of the August 15, 2016, meeting were approved.

Past Events
• August 27 was the tour of Dennis Albaugh’s cars followed by lunch at the Lucky Pig in Ogden then ice cream in Adel.
• A Concourse Show was held in Des Moines.
• Several members attended the Valley Junction Car Show
• Bob Brown’s Chevrolet sponsored a show. Ron Boone won the C-7 class.

Up-Coming Events:
• September 24 will be the Mystery Biscuit Run. Participants will meet at 8:00 a.m. in Martinsdale.
• Prairie City car Show will be Sunday, September 25.
• Indianola Log Cabin Days will be Sunday, September 26.
• WCCC has been invited to join other Corvette Clubs from Central Iowa on October 2 to view the Vietnam Memorial Replica Wall.
• October 8 and 9 will be an outing to Clear Lake and Mason City with an optional overnight stay in the Frank Lloyd Wright Hotel.

Old Business

• The committee appointed to review the By-Laws of WCCC is working. The committee consists of Randy Dochterman, Phyllis Martin, JoAnn Walser, Mark Addison, and Ruth Smith.
• A lengthy discussion was held to consider the future of the Spring Fling. Consensus was reached that the Spring Fling be discontinued.

Gerald Weldon, President, called the meeting of the Warren County Corvette Club to order at 6:30 p.m., August 15, 2016, at the Sports Page in Indianola.

It was noted that 10 new members have joined WCCC in the past three months.

Past Events

On August 5, 6, and 7 eight cars attended the Corvette Show in Hannibal, Mo. Five of those cars received awards.

• August 27 will be a tour of Dennis Albaugh’s cars followed by lunch at the Lucky Pig in Ogden.
• September 24 will be the Mystery Biscuit Run.

Ron Boone, Vice President, called the meeting of the Warren County Corvette Club to order at 6:30 p.m., July 18, 2016, at the Sports Page in Indianola. Thirteen members were present.

The minutes of the June 20, 2016, meeting were approved. A note from Don and Nancy Hemphill was read expressing their appreciation for the Club’s thoughtfulness during Don’s surgery.

The treasurer’s report was approved.

Past Events
The Carlisle Fourth of July Parade was fun as usual. A dozen cars participated and lots of candy was tossed to the parade watchers. Lunch was served at the VFW following the parade. Great day!!

Old Business
Randy Dochterman showed a framed, hand-painted club logo that was signed by the charter members. A place is needed to display the piece. Any ideas?

Larry Smith will be ordering name tags for anyone who needs them. Members pay $3.00 for each tag in advance with the remainder paid by the club. Please contact Larry if you are interested.

The distribution of proceeds from the Spring Fling were discussed. Children and Families of Iowa will receive $1900, $ for Scholars and Keep Indianola Beautiful will each receive $500.

Brain-storming continued on the future of the Spring Fling.

Six cars and 12 people cruised to Babe’s Steak House in Radcliff. Great food; good fun.

• July 4 will be the annual Carlisle Parade. Cars will meet on Garfield Street at 8:30. Parade begins at 9:30. Bring lots of Candy. Lunch will follow at the VFW.

• September 24 will be the Mystery Biscuit Run

Spring Fling, scheduled for Saturday, June 4, 2016, was discussed. Sponsors are generously donating for the charity benefit. Items for the silent auction and raffle have been secured. Merchants on the Square have donated coupons for the registration bags. Registration bags will be filled Wednesday, June 1. Ron and Mary Good will host a Co-op Salad Supper at 6:00 p.m. Club members are to report to the Square at 6:30 a.m. to set up for the show. Coffee and donuts will be provided. We’ll all be there rain or shine.

Up-Coming Events:
• May 21 will be a tour to Van Buren County. Meeting places will be at 8:00 at SE Polk High School, 9:00 in Pella, and later in Ottumwa.
• June 11 will be a dinner cruise to Radcliff.

Past Events: The annual Christmas Dinner was held Friday, December 11, 2015, at 6:00 p.m. at Johnny’s Italian Steak House on Fleur Drive. 23 Members attended.

New Business:
• Membership dues are due in January. Dues will remain at $20 per person per year.

• Volunteers are being sought for the activity committee.

The treasurer’s report was approved. Papers have been taken to City Hall in preparation for the 2016 Spring Fling. Arrangements are being made to get the insurance certificate completed.

Past Events:
• Seven cars met in Osceola for a run to Cameros in Bethany, Mo. For lunch on October 10.
• Several members attend the Winterset Car Show; there were 412 cars displayed.

Old Business:
• Christmas Party ideas were discussed. Larry and Ruth Smith will investigate a dinner at Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse on Fleur. Jerry and Sandy Weldon will plan decorations and entertainment. Donations will be received for Children and Families of Iowa.

New Business:
• Membership dues are due in January. Dues will remain at $20 per person per year.
• There are two club T shirts available for $16 each; white, size XL.
• Nominating committee for 2016 officers will include Ron Boone and Jerry Weldon.

Ron Boone visited the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY. He ordered a Brick as a tribute to Roxy Wilson from the WCCC. (NOTE: You can see a photo of the brick on the Members page in Roxy's listing at the bottom of the page.)

Up-Coming Events:
October 3 is the Carlisle Car Show
October 10 is the next WCCC social outing. Details will be forwarded to club members.

CCI hosted a racing event in Ankeny. Roger Kuhn used 5.9 gallons of fuel for each mile that he raced.

Saturday, September 12, 2015; Mystery Biscuit Run; meet at Urbandale Casey’s at I35/80 and Douglas (immediately north of Bob Brown Chevrolet) at 8:00 a.m.to caravan to a mystery location for breakfast. RSVP by Friday, September 11.

A motion was made to contribute $150 to the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY. The donation will purchase a brick in the Museum’s sidewalk in memory of Roxy Wilson.

New members Randy Dochterman, Jerry Kellar, Nancy Luckenbill, Mary Donaghy Richards, and Mike Richards were introduced.

Jerry thanked club members for their participation in the funeral procession for Roxy Wilson. Thank you notes from Janet Tyne, and Roxy’s family were shared.

A thank you note from Kam Hartung, the recipient of the WCCC $ for Scholars award, was also shared.

The minutes of the June 15, 2015, meeting were approved as published.

The treasurer’s report was approved.

Past Events:
13 cars participated in the July 4 Parade in Carlisle. Lunch was served at the Carlisle VFW hall. The club will participate in the July 4 parade in 2016 with Roger Kuhn chairing.
A tour to Greenfield, IA, and surroundings was well attended.
Six cars participated in a tour of the Valisca Ax Murder House and the Corning Opera House.

BOARD MINUTES

President Roxy Wilson called the meeting of the Warren County Corvette Club to order at 6:30 p.m., May 18, 2015, at the Sports Page in Indianola. Sixteen members were present. 50/50 tickets were sold.

New member, Jerry Kellar, was present. Jerry drives a red 1994 coupe. Welcome, Jerry.

New Corvettes/Vette Projects: Roxy Wilson’s car is nearing readiness for judging at Bloomington.

The minutes of the April 20, 2015, meeting were approved as published.

The treasurer’s report was approved.

Past Social Outings: Twelve members cruised to the Rusty Duck in Dexter for a good meal and fun time. Only one brave driver took his Vette due to rainy weather. There was a lovely parade of pick-up trucks and sedans.

Spring Fling Discussion: Ron Boone reported there will be no ditty bags this year. Items have been obtained for door prizes. 50/50 tickets will be sold. Trophies have been ordered. Assorted papers for the registration table will be inventoried and prepared. Jerry Weldon will prepare the sponsor thank-you board upon receipt of sponsor list from JoAnn Walser. Ron has a comprehensive list of duties and supplies in readiness for the show. Club members will park their Corvettes on the South side of the Square. Members are to report to the Square by 7:00 a.m. to set up.

Web Site Discussion: The club Board of Directors met April 27 to review the Web Site requirements. JoAnn received an email from the Web Master requesting final payment for set-up. Web Master will be asked to modify the Home Page by eliminating the emphasis on the Spring Fling after the Spring Fling. The Home Page will be reviewed before payment is made. The old website was shut down May 14, 2015. Discussion on the Web Site was tabled until the next meeting.

JoAnn Walser displayed one of the new parade banners.

Roxy will present the WCCC $ for Scholars award at the Indianola High School awards program next week.

Up Coming Events:
Jewel, Iowa, Jubilee parade committee has invited WCCC to drive in their parade Saturday, June 13, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. Roxy will send an email to determine who is interested in driving.
June 20: An outing to Greenfield will include a tour of the Opera House, the Hotel, Car Museum, and the Freedom Rock. Participants will gather mid-morning; details upcoming.
July 4: Carlisle Parade with Roger Kuhn in charge.
July 18: Valisca Ax Murder House
September : Mystery Biscuit Run

Larry Smith is proposing a club trip to the Corvette Museum, Bowling Green, KY; Indianapolis Motor Speedway, IN; Auburn-Cord-Duesenburg Museum, Auburn, IN; Lingenfelter Car Collection, Detroit, MI; Bronners Christmas Shop, Michigan; and Gizzardcity near Lansing, MI. Details are pending.

50/50 was won by Jerry Kellar.

BOARD MINUTES

Warren County Board met April 27, 2015, 9:00 a.m., at Cozy Café on West Town Parkway, WDM.

Those in attendance were Roxy Wilson, Jerry Weldon, Bob Walser, JoAnn Walser, and Ruth Smith. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the creation and implementation of the Club Web Site.

The list of items necessary to complete Web Site will be forwarded to the Web Master:

Kill old web site and/or point to new site ASAP

Fix screen to fit all computer screens

Web Site to include:

Home Page which is to include:
club motto: “Just for the Fun of it”
the Web Master’s contact information
links to other required items
additional information as appropriate

Membership application form

Member list with car pictures

Event calendar with link to event details

Monthly meeting minutes

Activity Snapshot page/s

A payment of $400 will be paid to the Web Master now and the remaining contract amount of $400 will be paid when the Web Site is completed and approved. This contract amount includes the Web Master’s attendance at the annual Spring Fling. The Web Master will be paid $50 per month beginning the month after the website set-up is complete. This monthly payment will continue to the end of 2015 at which time the remuneration will be renegotiated. The Web Master will account monthly for the time he has spent on the website maintenance.

Treasurer: Money from sponsors for upcoming Spring Fling is coming in and will be on next month’s treasury report. Donations from Bob Brown and Shottenkirks and Karls noted. Treasurer’s report reviewed and approved.

New Business:
Website
Guest John Feuling present to show and discuss new Corvette Club website. Mr. Feuling developed the site and is to be webmaster per previous club decision. Web page was reviewed and noted:
*various pages to go to for members cars, events calendar, join, supportive business links, etc.
*web address is: WarrenCountyCorvetteClub.com
*if a member’s car is not present on the site they can forward a picture to Mr. Feuling to add
*Mr. Feuling’s email link is on the website
* An entry can be downloaded from the site for Spring Fling (cannot currently be completed electronically for payment)
*Club reports can be sent to site for addition
*Photos of events can be sent to webmaster for addition
Discussion from members related to new website: Discussed that the goal is to have the new web address come up on the old site so people accessing can be forwarded. Mr. Feuling is working on this but not completed on meeting date. Discussion of having an area open only to club members. This area could have members’ phone numbers and email addresses (no street addresses). Discussed having the event area as a calendar set up that would then have links for events on the dates. Suggestion of having a cover photo for the website of photo of all cars and Mr. Feuling reports he can assist with this photo as needed.

Member addresses:
JoAnn will send out the latest list per email of members and contact numbers.

Car Banners:
One more banner was found making number have 7.
JoAnn reports that car banner are made and are at the printers at this time.

Spring Fling:
Money is coming in from sponsors with a rough estimate of around $2,000 gathered so far.
Reported that door prizes from various car care companies are arriving
Ron presented a trophy that could be used instead of plaques. Discussion of possible having the trophy for first place and other places receive plaque. Ron will look further into costs etc. and report back to group next month.
Music is secured

Children and Families of Iowa will be there with a representative to do a charities choice
Roxy’s dgt will sing national anthem
Will be no stuffing of goodie bags this year
Discussed needs for show:
Secure after event site for get together of club
Sign-up sheet for job duties during event
Verify who will be taking car pictures
Notifying other clubs that Hwy 92 is closed
What to do with tables, tents, etc. after the show this year (storage)
Do we have windshield cards

EVENTS
Past events:
Tavern Pizza (March 21st) event had a good showing and a dinner enjoyed by all
April Fools Dinner (April 1st) was also well attended and a big thanks to Jerry for the fun menu planning.
Ron and Teresa shared the great times had at Corvette shows in Columbia Mo. and Hot Springs Arkansas.

Upcoming events:
Karl’s has donuts and coffee the second Saturday of each month.
Benningan’s car show on Merle Hay starts May 13th.
June 20th is the clubs trip to Greenfield; more on this later
July 4th, Carlisle parade
July 18th is the club trip to Villisca, Iowa for tour of home of ax murders
Discussion of possible club trip to Bowling Green Kentucky in October

BOARD MINUTES

President Roxy Wilson called the meeting of the Warren County Corvette Club to order at 6:32 p.m., March 16, 2015, at the Sports Page in Indianola. Twenty members were present. 50/50 tickets were sold.

New Corvettes and Projects: Roxy Wilson’s car is in the process of being prepared for display at Bloomington, 2015. Mike Jarvis is having some air-brushing done on his new Vette.

The minutes of the February 16, 2015, meeting were approved as published.

The treasurer reported deposits of $40.00 for dues and expenses of $25.00 for storage. There was an adjustment of $100.40 found during final audit which was subtracted from the balance leaving a new balance of $2,345.58. The report was approved.

A thank-you note was received from Children and Families of Iowa for the Christmas donation.

John Kmet is continuing to work with Mary on the Club’s insurance policy due date.

Spring Fling Discussion: Ron Boone has begun conversations with potential sponsors. Roxy Wilson will talk to Karl’s Chevrolet and others as he did last year. Jerry Weldon will get Goodies for Bags. Ron Boone is working on trophies/plaques.

Jerry Weldon is working with John Fueling on the Web site. Bob and JoAnn Walser will meet with Jerry and John to discuss details of the web site.

JoAnn Walser presented a proposal for parade banners. The club currently has 6 banners. A motion carried to prepare a minimum of 24 additional banners at a cost of approximately $5.60 per banner.

Club members who have not paid dues for 2015 will be notified by JoAnn Walser that they are past-due and their membership will be dropped if not paid by April 1, 2015.

Future club socials were discussed:
March 21: Pizza Party at the Tavern in West Des Moines at 6:00 p.m.
April 1: April Fools Dinner will be at Cal’s Diner, Indianola, 6:30 p.m.
May: Pending
June 20: An outing to Greenfield will include a tour of the Opera House, the Hotel, Car Museum, and the Freedom Rock. Participants will gather mid-morning; details upcoming.

50/50 was won by Kyle Forst; there was $20 for Kyle and $20 for the Club.

WARREN COUNTY CORVETTE CLUB
February 16, 2015
BOARD MINUTES

President Roxy Wilson called the meeting of the Warren County Corvette Club to order at 6:28 p.m., February 16, 2015, at the Sports Page in Indianola. Fourteen members were present. 50/50 tickets were not sold.

New Corvettes and Projects: Roxy Wilson traded his C6 for a C7; it is red with a black transparent top. Sam and Larry are working feverishly on their 66’s in preparation for the 50th Anniversary of their cars in 2016. Roxy is preparing his car for display at Bloomington, 2015, and has been accepted for judging. Mike Jarvis is redecorating his garage with a black and white tile floor and red walls; this may become the club’s official party space.

The minutes of the January 19, 2015, meeting were corrected by deleting “Food Bank of Iowa’ and inserting “Children and Families of Iowa” as the charity for Spring Fling 2015.

The treasurer reported deposits of $210.00: $10.00 for 50/50 tickets and $200.00 for 2015 dues and expenses of $25.00 for storage leaving a balance of $2,430.98. The report was approved.

Past Outings: Valentine’s Dinner was held at Christopher’s in Beaverdale on February 14. Eighteen people were present.

New Business:
The club presented a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday to Ruth Smith.
Larry Johnson has resigned as Web Master. John Fueling is being considered to fill the position. John has offered to set up the Web Page for $500 to $800 then charge $50 per month to maintain the site. The Web Site may be included on Face Book. Motion was made, seconded, and carried to authorize Jerry Weldon, Roxy Wilson, and Bob Walser to work with John on details the site.

Spring Fling Discussion: Ron Boone will begin conversations with potential sponsors. The discussion of plaques and trophies was tabled.

April 1: Jerry Weldon will plan the April Fools Dinner
June 20: JoAnn Walser will plan an outing to Greenfield. (JoAnn is from Perry)

JoAnn Walser and Ruth Smith will report on parade banners at the March meeting.

It was approved that Ruth Smith will have custody of one check during the absence of the co-treasurers during the winter.
